Role summary
This is an opportunity for a Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join a busy and existing paediatric diabetes team at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. The role involves caring for children and young people with various forms of diabetes, including complex and rare cases. The team provides comprehensive care, including an established insulin pump service, and offers a full training and induction package for the successful candidate. Flexible working is an option within the team.
Essential criteria
- RN CHILD
- Educated to 1st degree level
- Teaching qualification
Desirable criteria
- Masters or working towards masters in related subject
- V300 Non-Medical prescriber
- Specialty qualification - diabetes
- Portfolio of evidence showing achievements in practice/specialty for at least 3 years
- Experience in the care and management of children and young people with complex and rare diabete
- Evidence of delivering teaching programmes to staff groups
- Evidence of presentations at local, regional, national level.
- Leadership
- Evidence of excellent clinical record
- Demonstrate the ability to work in highly demanding environment.
- Maintained development of clinical leadership skills
- Evidence of diplomacy and negotiation skills

Working within an existing and busy paediatric diabetes team this is an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in a band 6 specialist nurse role and diabetes management . Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital have rare and complex cases of diabetes alongside children and young people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
