Role summary
This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to work as a Ward Manager for Galaxy Ward (PICU) CAMHS inpatient PICU ward in Newham. The role involves operational responsibility for providing and managing high-quality nursing care and treatment for service users within the inpatient service area. The successful candidate will clinically lead, develop the service and nursing team, and support care delivery, working with service users and staff to ensure effective practices.

- Registered Nurse (Mental Health) OR Registered Nurse (Learning Disability) OR Registered Nurse (Adult)
Desirable criteria
- Masters qualification or equivalent experience
- Specialist Area Training
- Significant experience of management and leadership roles at band 6 level or above
- Working with people with mental health problems/ learning disabilities
- Managing challenging and aggressive behaviour
- Supporting and supervising students and junior staff
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of quality improvement practices
- Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for complex patients
- Minimising clinical risk and reducing restrictive practices
- Knowledge of implementing strategy, change management and practice development

Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to work as the Ward Manager for Galaxy Ward (PICU) CAMHS inpatient PICU ward ward based in Newham.
We are looking for somebody who is passionate and skilled to take on this role.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be enthusiastic, forward thinking and have a keen interest in working with adolescents and their families in a mental health setting. You will be working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, providing care for young people with a wide range of needs.
The Clinical Nurse Manager will have 9-5 Monday to Friday operational responsibility and accountability for the provision and management of high quality nursing care and for the treatment of service users within the inpatient service area. You will be required to clinically lead, develop the service and nursing team, support care delivery and work with service users and staff to ensure the provision of practices that respond effectively to both individual and service need.
Main duties of the job
To co-ordinate and provide care and treatment to an identified group of patients without direct supervision. In addition, supporting junior staff in delivery of care provision.
