Role summary
This role is for a motivated Physiotherapist with a passion for Orthopaedics to join the Major Trauma and Orthopaedics Physiotherapy Team. You will deliver specialist, life-changing care to patients with complex trauma and orthopaedic needs at a Level 1 Major Trauma Centre. The position involves managing your own caseload, developing advanced clinical skills, and working closely with a dedicated multidisciplinary team. As Deputy Team Lead, you will also contribute to service development, support audits, and mentor junior staff and students.
Essential criteria
- Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
- HCPC State Registration
- Evidence of relevant postgraduate level education/CPD
Desirable criteria
- Membership of the Professional body e.g. The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy or Professional Network.
- Experience as a Band 5 in a broad range of specialities including respiratory, elderly care, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions
- Experience of working as part of a Physiotherapy team and/or MDT
- Contributing to clinical education of less experienced staff or assistants
- Clinical practice experience in major trauma and elective Orthopaedics.

- Experience in supervising students
- Experience of working in a community setting
- Experience in conducting formal presentations
- Excellent knowledge of Orthopaedics and neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy management
- Good knowledge of workings of community and primary care
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Committed to personal and team development
- Ability to work independently & manage own caseload
- Ability to pass on skills / knowledge to others within both formal and informal environments
- Administrative and computer skills
- Evidence of participation in research / audit
- Presentation Skills and evidence of teaching and training other members of staff
