Role summary
This role is for a Band 3 Clinical Support Worker in the Oral Surgery Outpatient Department at Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. The successful candidate will assist registered nurses in providing high-quality patient care, including setting up/closing clinics, performing extended skills like venepuncture and ECG recording, and assisting with minor operations. The role requires an approachable, flexible individual keen to learn and committed to the Trust's values.
Essential criteria
- Level 3 vocational qualification or Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties or Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3;
- Theoretical knowledge
- Experience of a range of care and related procedures
- Clinical observations
- Knowledge of data protection legislation and health and safety at work legislation
- National Care Certificate or commitment to complete within 12 weeks of commencing employment
- Numeracy and Literacy Level 2

- Undertaken relevant additional training for Clinical Support Workers
- Knowledge & Experience

Job summary
Band 3 Clinical Support Worker - 17 hours per week
The band 3 will be based in the Oral Surgery Outpatient Department at the Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle.
The CSW will be expected to set up/ close down the varying specialty Clinics, have extended skills e.g., venepuncture, ECG recording, basic Observations, BM monitoring, basic wound care and assisting the Consultants with Minor Operations.
