Role summary
This role is for a Bank Pelvic Health Specialist Physiotherapist at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will work autonomously within the multidisciplinary Pelvic Health Service, providing highly specialised assessment and intervention for outpatients with complex pelvic health conditions. Key responsibilities include managing a varied caseload, developing the service, and supervising junior staff and students. Key responsibilities
- Work as an autonomous practitioner within the multidisciplinary Pelvic Health Service.
- Provide highly specialised assessment and intervention for a varied caseload of outpatients with Pelvic Health conditions.
- Be involved in the development of the Pelvic Health Service, striving for maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Supervise, teach, and appraise junior, assistant, and student physiotherapists.
- Supervise, initiate, and participate in evidence-based projects and lead in-service trainings.
- Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own professional activities.
Essential criteria
- BSc Degree in Physiotherapy or Diploma or equivalent
- Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration as a physiotherapist
- Evidence or portfolio of postgraduate continued development in specialist clinical area
- Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust's shared commitments
- Substantial postgraduate experience at a Band 6 level or equivalent including within specialist area
- Knowledge and experience of a wide range of approaches for the management of patients within specialist clinical area
- Experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working
- Awareness of cognitive behavioural approaches to rehabilitation
- Experience of group work
- Previous experience of junior staff & student supervision/ clinical education
- Experience of leading a team
- Experience of teaching to unidisciplinary/ multidisciplinary groups
- Evidence of active involvement in service development & contribution to change within the workplace
- Specialist knowledge within the specialist field and ability to apply this in a clinical setting
- Evidence of advanced clinical reasoning and the management of complex cases
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of clinical governance and its application to the work setting.
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to best practice and awareness of relevant national standards/guidelines
- Knowledge of recent professional developments in the clinical area

Job summary
This is an exciting time to be working at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation one of the biggest NHS Trusts in the UK, delivering care to more than 2 million people a year through our four main hospitals: Barnet, Chase Farm and Royal Free and most recently the North Middlesex Hospital.
We are delighted to be looking for Pelvic Health Specialist physiotherapists to join our pool of bank staff at the Royal Free Hampstead site. The post holder must have strong clinical reasoning skills and expertise in complex presentations involving bladder, bowel and pelvic pain symptoms. The ideal candidate will be confident and competent in vaginal and anorectal examinations, with experience in managing vulval pain and other complex pelvic health conditions.
Successful candidates are required to be able to demonstrate the Trust's shared commitments, the specific responsibilities of the job description and to meet the person specification. You should have proven experience of working in an acute hospital setting.
