Role summary
This is a permanent, part-time development post for an Inpatient Mental Health Dietitian, progressing from Band 5 to Band 6. The role involves providing specialist dietetic intervention to service users with severe/complex mental health needs and/or learning disabilities. The post holder will conduct evidence-based assessments and interventions to optimize patient outcomes and recovery, working autonomously with support from senior clinicians and the Multi-Disciplinary Team.
Essential criteria
- Degree or post-graduate diploma in Dietetics
- HCPC Registration
- Evidence of post graduate training/learning and development
Desirable criteria
- Member of British Dietetic Association
- Post registration experience of working in acute and/or community settings
- Practice Educator training and experience / supervising students/dietetic assistants etc
- Range of clinical specialities seen during practical training or experience in acute dietetic service
- Experience of developing and delivering training to health care professionals and service users.
- Experience of working in Mental Health settings

Job summary
This role is offered on a permanent basis. The hours are part-time, 30 hours per week.

We have an exciting opportunity to expand our Inpatient Mental Health Dietitian Team. This development post will see the successful applicant develop from Band 5 to Band 6. You will be supported in this development phase using competencies and with support and guidance from our Highly Specialist Dietitian and the Multi-Disciplinary Team.
The post holder will:
o Provide specialist Dietetic intervention to service users with severe / complex mental health needs and / or learning disabilities. (80% of time)
o Provide evidence based, dietetic assessment and intervention to optimise service users' outcomes and recovery.
To be responsible for a designated workload with access to the support, advice and management from a senior clinician whilst not directly supervised.
