Role summary
This exciting opportunity is for a GPhC-registered Senior Pharmacy Technician to join a friendly, dynamic, and forward-thinking pharmacy team. The role focuses on planning, delivering, and documenting training for technical staff, contributing to the review and development of training packs, and participating in end-point assessments. You will work closely with the Lead Pharmacy Technician and support the management of training programmes, ensuring safe working practices. The position is primarily based at Warwick Hospital.
Key responsibilities
- Support the management, development, and delivery of training for pharmacy staff.
- Deputise in the absence of the Lead Pharmacy Technician - Education & Training.
- Act as an assessor & training supervisor for qualifications within the pharmacy department.
- Maintain Accredited Accuracy Checking status and perform final accuracy checks of prescriptions.
- Carry out dispensing duties for various patient types and provide routine pharmaceutical advice.
- Cover day-to-day managerial duties in the absence of the section Lead Technician, including managing workload and staff breaks.
Essential criteria
- BTEC National certificate/NVQ level 3/City and Guilds or equivalent in Pharmacy Practice
- Accuracy Checking Technician Qualification or specialist equivalent for Medicines Management
- Able to demonstrate Continuing Professional Development to meet statutory requirements
- UK Professional registration as a Pharmacy Technician
- Post qualification experience relevant to a range of pharmacy services of a length and depth appropriate for the competencies that the post requires.
- Computer skills
- Knowledge of JAC Pharmacy computer system
- Good communication skills (written and oral)
