Role summary
This role is for a motivated Audiologist, specifically a recent graduate or early-career professional, to specialise in paediatric audiology. It involves a structured internal training programme covering paediatric assessment and rehabilitation for children from 6 months of age. The successful candidate will initially work alongside senior clinicians, gaining exposure to specialist cases, before transitioning to an independent caseload. The position offers experience across a comprehensive range of paediatric assessments and rehabilitation challenges, with a focus on behavioural hearing assessments for children aged five and over, expanding to younger children and infants. The role also includes contributing to service development and working across multiple clinic sites.
Essential criteria
- BSc Audiology or equivalent
- Knowledge and understanding of paediatric behavioral hearing assessment
- Registered or in process of registering with AHCS as an Audiologist
Desirable criteria
- Registered or in process of registering with HCPC (Clinical Scientist)
- MSc in Audiology
- Previous experience of working in a clinical Audiology environment
- Previous experience of working in a clinical Paediatric Audiology environment
- Experience of working in a UKAS accredited audiology service
- Understanding of the NHS and NHS audiology services
- Ability to prioritise & work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Basic assessment and management of patients with hearing difficulties.
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and calibration
- Good IT skills
- Ability to formulate appropriate clinical management plans based on good case history information, and to seek further assistance when required.
- Knowledge and understanding of electrophysiological hearing assessment
