Role summary

This role involves working as part of the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust (RCHT) Nutrition and Dietetic team, providing dietetic support and advice to patients and health professionals across a wide clinical remit. The post holder will assess and treat an agreed caseload of patients under supervision, contribute to policy development, and develop appropriate resources. They will deliver a quality, evidence-based nutrition and dietetic service and may be required to work in different locations or on weekends/bank holidays.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver a quality, evidence based nutrition and dietetic service within a defined section of the Nutrition and Dietetic team.
  • Assess and treat an agreed caseload of patients under the supervision of a more senior practitioner.
  • Keep accurate records in accordance with RCHT and Health Professions Council regulations/policy.
  • Be responsible for nutrition and dietetic participation in multi-professional groups and contribute to policy making as directed by the lead Dietitian.
  • May be required to deliver a service in different locations and work on weekends and bank holidays.

Essential criteria

  • To be able to demonstrate Proficient IT skills including Microsoft; Excel, Email, Power Point, Word.
  • Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or equivalent leading to Health Professions Council (HCPC) Registration as a Dietitian
  • Experience with both in- and outpatients
  • Mandatory training.
  • An ability to assess, interpret and write records. An ability to demonstrate best dietetic practise for a range of conditions.
  • An ability to manage a designated caseload.
  • An ability to communicate with a wide range of people and using differing medias.
  • An ability to be flexible within job role and with changes to specialist teams.

  • Will accept applications from those awaiting HCPC registration

RCHT is working towards seven day service delivery and the post holder may be expected to work on weekends and bank holidays
