Essential criteria
- Registered Dental Technician
- Evidence of significant continuous professional and personal development
- Fully qualified dental technician holding a BTEC Diploma/BSc in Dental Technology or equivalent
- Experienced in multiple unit crown and bridge restorative cases
- Experience of the production of fixed dental restorations in all-ceramic
- Experience of the production of fixed dental restorations in metal-ceramic
- Experience of the production of fixed dental restorations in composite
- Experience in the use of CAD/CAM technology
Desirable criteria
- Experience of 3shape and Exocad digital design software
- Experienced in milling techniques and a range of precision attachments
- Worked in Hospital/NHS setting
- Experienced in using the Ivoclar pressable ceramic system
- Skills, Knowledge & Ability
- Good communication skills both oral and written
- Highly motivated and flexible approach to work
- Willingness to learn new ways of working and respond positively to changing work demands
- Ability to prioritise and organise own workload
- Ability to work as a member of the laboratory team

Job summary
To undertake the duties of a (Band 5) dental technician to clinical prescription producing dental technical restorations related to fixed prosthodontics. The vast majority of the work of this post holder will be the construction of fixed appliances.
Main duties of the job
Technical Work
The construction complete and partial fixed prostheses in acrylic, all-ceramic, composite, cast dental alloys, composite and PEEK materials
Use of CAD/CAM technology to design and manufacture fixed prostheses.
Works allocation
To ensure that turnaround times are met.
To escalate to the Laboratory Manager when turnaround targets are not being met
Quality
Ensure that work produced by the laboratory is of the highest possible standard and meets the needs of the service users prescribing the work.
To escalate any quality concerns to the Laboratory Manager
To escalate to Management any concerns around the quality or delivery of externally procured lab work
Additional Duties
To undertake any duties, commensurate to grade, that are required to ensure the smooth running of the service.
