Role summary
This role involves working within the senior paediatric nursing and practice education teams to provide clinical and educational support to the paediatric nursing workforce. A primary focus is supporting newly qualified nurses during their preceptorship year. The post holder will collaborate with ward managers to help staff achieve required competencies and facilitate access to clinical learning opportunities. This includes working with multidisciplinary teams to plan training and development.
Essential criteria
- oCurrent Professional Registration either RSCN, or RN Child oEvidence of continuous professional development oPractice assessor / Mentor and assessing qualification oStudy at level 6 (degree / diploma)
Desirable criteria
- oTeaching and Assessing Qualification
- oRecent Professional general clinical experience within an acute Paediatric setting oEvidence of implementing change in clinical practice oEvidence of experience working with students/ preceptees / trainee nursing associates in a clinical setting
- oExperience in research or audit oExperience in caring for children and young people displaying escalating behaviours
- oA sound knowledge of professional policies and procedures oA sound understanding of the role of the Trainee nursing associate / nursing associate oKnowledge of clinical governance and a commitment to clinical supervision and staff development
- oA good understanding of current issues relating to the NHS. oExperience in Policy/Service Development oLeadership and supervisory skills
- oIT skills oPatient focused oExcellent communication skills oAble to prioritise and meet deadlines effectively oGood management of own and others time oAble to use initiative and make decisions oAnalyses problems and implements effective and appropriate solutions

Job summary
