Role summary
This role is for an experienced and compassionate Band 7 Breast Care Clinical Nurse Specialist to join a supportive breast cancer nursing team. You will provide expert clinical guidance, personalised care, and advocacy to patients throughout their cancer journey, from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship. Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse part 1 or 2 or relevant section of the register
- Completion of degree
- Post registration qualification in Breast Care
- Level 2 psychological training skills
- Advanced communication skills training
Desirable criteria
- Recognised teaching qualification or equivalent
- Leadership course
- Mentorship course
- Significant experience within breast surgery, oncology, palliative care or women's health
- Skills and Abilities
- Proven listening/ counselling skills with the ability to manage complex situations and appropriately delver sensitive and difficult outcomes
- Communication
- To be able to support patients who may be receiving significant news about their disease or treatment
- To give information with compassion and provide psychological support, recognise psychological needs and screen for distress
