Role summary
The Macmillan MDT team is seeking an organised and determined individual to coordinate Cancer MDTs and patient pathways. This role significantly impacts the speed and quality of cancer patient care, requiring a passionate and hardworking person. The successful candidate will ensure MDTs run smoothly and cancer patients are accurately tracked throughout their pathways. The role involves working autonomously and within a team, prioritising high workloads, and communicating effectively with internal and external personnel.
Essential criteria
- oEducated to A level or NVQ level 3 Customer Service/ Business Admin /ITQ or equivalent
- oTyping qualification or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- oSecretary qualification or equivalent
- oExperience of working in a busy clerical/office environment or reception service
- oSecretarial and /or administrative experience
- oPrioritizing, planning and organizing own tasks
- oWorking within guidelines
- oExperience of dealing with difficult situations and confrontations
- oData entry experience and documentation Experience of IT packages - Microsoft office
- oExperience of producing documents to a high standard
- oPrevious experience of working in NHS
- oPrevious experience of working with medical records
- oExperience of using EPIC
- oUnderstanding of confidentiality and data protection
- oSound knowledge of office procedures
- oGood working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- oUnderstanding of customer service
- oKnowledge of National Cancer Waits targets
- oKnowledge of the Trust including awareness of priorities
- oKnowledge of Trust information systems Knowledge of Medical Terminology Awareness of NHS targets and Trust priorities

Job summary
The Macmillan MDT team are looking for an organised and determined individual to help with the co-ordination of Cancer MDT's and patient pathways. The MDT department at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust consists of 20 MDT & Pathway Co-ordinators who manage between them 36 different cancer sites and their corresponding MDTs. This role can have a significant impact on the speed and quality of care that cancer patients receive and therefore it requires a passionate and hardworking individual. Through effective communication and attention to detail, the successful candidate will help to ensure all MDTs run smoothly and all cancer patients are tracked accurately and thoroughly throughout their cancer pathways.
You should be able to work both autonomously and within a team as well as prioritising and organising high workloads in order to meet deadlines. You will be expected to cover other cancer sites when needed.
You should be highly motivated to learn and be able to adapt to change in a fast paced environment. You will be expected to communicate with all levels of personnel internally and external from the Trust and develop effective working relationships with all.
