Job summary
The post holder will provide and lead clinical care within the Outpatient setting and assist in the development of Children's Services in relation to outpatients, maintaining key performance indicators, partial booking, clinic utilisation and DNAs. They will be an advocate for children and their families, promoting child focused family-centred care and acting as a resource for multi-professional teams. They will manage the clinical areas within their responsibility including the development and management of staff and cover for the paediatric inpatient ward managers when they are on leave. The post holder will manage and support the paediatric specialist nurses and contribute to the specialty service development and be actively involved in recruitment and ensure safe staffing of both departments.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the effective day-to-day operational and line management of nursing staff and resources within the children's outpatient departments, and for the provision of a high quality, evidence based and cost-effective nursing service.
