Role summary

The Acute Respiratory Unit is seeking an experienced and motivated Staff Nurse to join their team. This role involves providing high-level care to respiratory, ENT, and general medical patients, including those requiring Non-Invasive Ventilation and Tracheostomy management. The successful candidate will plan, deliver, and evaluate patient care, maintain excellent working relationships, and administer medications.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate care to a group of patients.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues and service users.
  • Administer medications in line with NMC guidance.
  • Undertake clinical skills such as physiological observations, ECG, Venepuncture, Cannulation, urinary catheterisation, capillary blood gas monitoring.

Essential criteria

  • Evidence of clinical experience gained post NMC registration / Completion of Preceptorship
  • Evidence of working within Respiratory
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Able to work effectively as a member a multi-disciplinary team as well as independently
  • Ability to lead a team of patients independently
  • Experience with Non Invasive Ventilation
  • Competent with Tracheostomy management
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Part 1 Adult / General Level 1 or 2)
  • Degree / Diploma in Nursing studies or equivalent

Job summary

The Acute Respiratory Unit on Wards 11a/b are looking for a dynamic and motivated, experienced Staff Nurse to join the team.

This vacancy is open to candidates who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse, have proven post registration experience as well as knowledge of working within respiratory.

ARCU is a 40 bedded mixed sex ward caring for Respiratory, ENT and General Medical patients, delivering higher level care such as Non Invasive Ventilation, Tracheostomy and laryngectomy care. Hi flow oxygen and patients with chest drains. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse looking for a new challenge.

Main duties of the job
