Job summary
The General Surgery & Urology Business Unit has an exciting opportunity to appoint three Pathway Co-ordinators (Medical Secretary) on a full time permanent basis.
One post will be based in the UGI Department and two in the Colorectal Department. The post holders will support the Medical Secretaries for each department.
Applicants must be confident communicators with the ability to liaise with staff at all levels. You will need to have proven organisational skills, good knowledge of IT systems, and be able to confidentially deal with queries from patients and staff. You will need to be an enthusiastic, motivated team player, with excellent problem-solving skills.
Previous administration is essential, ideally in the NHS however full training on IT systems and processes will be provided.
Main duties of the job
- Editing and dispatch of clinical correspondence related to NHS medical patients within agreed timescales and quality standard
- Be a point of contact for patients and medical staff ensuring queries are answered with skill, sensitivity and in a courteous and professional manner.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
