Role summary
The Special Care Dental Service is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Dental Receptionist to provide administrative support to the dental team at their Pickles Coppice clinic in Southampton. This role involves supporting the delivery of routine and urgent care to patients with additional needs, including those with physical, sensory, intellectual, mental, medical, or behavioural difficulties. The successful candidate will manage reception duties, clerical tasks, and maintain records, ensuring an efficient service for special care patients. Flexibility to cover other clinics across Hampshire may be required.
Key responsibilities
- Provide administrative support for Dental Officer, Dental Therapist and Dental Nurse.
- Be responsible for opening and closing of dental clinic premises.
- Provide general clerical support including typing correspondence and clinical letters, mail handling, stock control and photocopying.
- Maintain appropriate records, registry system (postal), and file correspondence and clinical records, ensuring compliance with agreed record keeping systems.
- Order and maintain stock, stationery and consumables.
- File records, clinical correspondence and radiographs.
Essential criteria
- GCSE English and Maths level 4/C or above, or a good standard of general education
- Business and Admin NVQ Level 3 equivalent
