Applications are invited from graduates with an Applied Biomedical Science (Hons) degree, or a Biochemical Sciences (Hons) degree which is accredited by the IBMS as suitable for training purposes. Candidates, if successful, will be placed on Band 5 and required to complete their Specialist Portfolio prior to progression to Band 6.

Successful candidates will be expected to participate in the out of hour’s rota once trained and competent to do so.

Candidates with more than 1 years’ experience as a Biomedical Scientist will not be considered.

The Clinical Biochemistry Department provides comprehensive core, immunoassay, point of care, specialist protein, metabolic and toxicology services to the North-East of Scotland, including specialist services to the Orkney and Shetland Islands involving a total catchment population of over 600,000.
