Role summary
This role is for an experienced and resilient Registered Healthcare Professional to lead an integrated Mental Health and Substance Use Service within a busy remand prison. The Team Manager will provide strong clinical and operational leadership to a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care in a fast-paced environment. This unique opportunity involves influencing service development, supporting staff, and improving outcomes for a vulnerable population.
Key responsibilities
- Provide effective leadership and management to a multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure safe, effective and recovery-focused service delivery across mental health and substance use pathways.
- Manage performance, quality, workforce planning and service development.
- Support staff wellbeing, professional development and retention.
- Work collaboratively with prison colleagues, commissioners, healthcare partners and wider stakeholders.
- Support the management of complex clinical presentations, risk and safeguarding concerns.
Essential criteria
- Mental Health Practitioner Qualification
- Relevant Degree or Post Graduate diploma/equivalent level of experience
- Considerable experience of working in the mental health field
- Experience of providing specialist interventions for those with mental health problems, counselling techniques, CBT, motivational interviewing
- Demonstrable experience at Band 6/7 or equivalent
