Role summary
Join Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust as a Healthcare Support Worker on Ward 12C, an elective surgical unit. This role involves assisting with patient care across various surgical specialities like breast, bowel, and ENT. No prior healthcare experience is needed as full training and development opportunities are provided. Essential criteria
- An understanding of the importance of patient confidentially and privacy.
- Recognise how patients and colleagues need to be treated with dignity and respect and can demonstrate these behaviours in their daily work.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills.
- The ability to respond with kindness and humanity to patients.
- A flexible and adaptable approach with the aptitude to work in a busy hospital healthcare setting.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety with an awareness of the importance of following Trust policies and procedures.
- Experience of working with people, ideally in a front-line customer service role.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of providing person centred care.
- Education, Qualification & Training
- Care Certificate/working towards
- Willing to work towards Level 2 functional skills (Math & English)
- Level 2 or Level 3 (NVQ) in health and Social Care or equivalent relevant experience
- Special Circumstances
- Ability to work agreed shift patterns designed to meet service needs.
- Can demonstrate self-motivation and ability to motivate others
- Demonstrates some insight into the fundamentals and complexity of care and care delivery
