Role summary
This role is for a Clinical Nurse Specialist within a consultant-led sexual health team. The team provides integrated sexual health clinics across East Kent and Medway, offering screening, treatment for STIs, contraception, HIV treatment and care, and sexual health promotion. The specialist will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate holistic care, manage complex caseloads, and support staff development. Essential criteria
- Level 6 Degree or equivalent qualification in relevant subject
- Registered health care professional with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
- Proven ability to work effectively within your area of practice, supported by relevant experience
- Experience managing complex caseloads and supporting/ mentoring others
- Knowledge & Skils
- Sound communication skills in order to understand and communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Able to use IT systems and databases
- Knowledge of up to date clinical practice by using up- to- date skills and adhering to evidence-based procedures and clinical effectiveness frameworks
- Understand where to signpost clients and families to alternative services to support behaviour change and improve health

Job summary
Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare or working on the Staff Bank within these organisations. Nursing and AHP vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses/AHPs.
We are a consultant-led team of sexual health clinicians which offers high-quality, confidential sexual health services. We provide integrated sexual health clinics across East Kent (including Swale) and Medway which offer screening and treatment for sexual transmitted infections; contraception including long acting reversible contraception; HIV treatment and care services; young people's services and sexualhealth promotion.
Our clinics provide appointments and walk-in sessions across East Kent (including Swale) and Medway. We support pharmacies that are providing free emergency hormonal contraception to under 30-year olds in Kent and Medway. Our specialist trained therapists also deliver psychosexual therapy services across Kent.
