Role summary
This role is for a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker to join the Early Interventions in Psychosis Service. Key responsibilities
- Work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for all aspects of clinical duties, including time management and prioritisation of caseload.
- Work independently as part of a multidisciplinary team to diagnose, assess, plan, and implement client-specific care.
- Manage a caseload across the county, providing care and treatment to 14-65 year olds who have experienced a first episode of psychosis.
- Travel between community locations across Buckinghamshire to deliver services.
- Participate in service improvement / QI projects and potentially train to deliver Behavioural Family Therapy.
Essential criteria
- Experience of working with people with mental health problems, within a multi-disciplinary team.
- To have good understanding of diversity and equality issues within mental health services
- To understand and have experience of Risk Management / Safeguarding
- Relevant professional Registration (NMC / HCPC / Social Work England)
- To be able to manage in a busy working environment working with complex cases (with patients and carers) to your post
- To have a good understanding of Clinical Governance
- Experience of working in a community team
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with psychosis
- Experience of supervising junior staff
- Experience of complex legal issues
- Post Graduate Education specifically relating to Mental Heath
- Additional relevant training
- At least two years experience of complex caseload management
- Evidence of experience in working with families / carers.
- Understanding of EIS ethos

TheEarly Interventions Service provides care and treatment to 14 - 65 year olds who have experienced a first episode of psychosis. As a team, we strive to ensure that we deliver high quality, holistic, patient-centred care and that our staff are supported in their roles and encouraged to develop. We follow the EIS ethos of quality, multi-disciplinary input for service users and their carers / family members.
This role will require you to travel between community locations across Buckinghamshire.
