Role summary
This is a full-time Specialist Radiographer position at Wansbeck General Hospital, offering development opportunities with extended hours including weekends. The role involves working across CT and general x-ray departments, participating in a roster pattern that includes out-of-hours and on-call duties. Key responsibilities
- Participate in the roster pattern, weekend working, out of hours and on calls.
- Work between CT and the general x-ray department.
- Work alongside students and assistant practitioners, potentially mentoring them.
- Participate in the department rota, primarily at Wansbeck Hospital, with some cover at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital out of hours and weekends.
- Carry out all radiographic techniques and examinations to a consistently high standard, professionally and efficiently.
- Undertake specialist areas of practice as delegated by site lead/modality lead.
Essential criteria
- BSc in Radiography or equivalent
- State Registration (HPC)
- Specialist post registration qualification in a specialized imaging modality at diploma level and or the equivalent experience e.g CT, Barium, Fluoroscopy, mammography, Cardiac Cath lab. IVP or image interpretation
- Previous post graduate experience Must be competent in a specialist area of practice such as Barium's, Cardiology Cath Lab, Pain clinics, muscular skeletal reporting, fluoroscopy, mammography or CT evidenced through Diploma level post graduate training and/or experience.
- Experience of teaching others
- Must have evidence of on going CPD
- Post qualification training in intravenous cannulation and demonstrate competency in the administration of intravenous injections.
- Evidence of Leadership skills
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
- Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools
- Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods
Desirable criteria
- Post Graduate qualification in supervisory management
- Degree in specialist area of practice
- Teaching qualification
- Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools
- Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods
- Recruitment and selection training
