Role summary

Key responsibilities
- Carry out crisis assessments and formulate plans for young people and their carers during times of distress.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and formulate safety plans with children and their carers.
- Offer telephone support to children, young people, carers, and other professionals for advice and guidance on emotional distress.
- Provide short-term interventions for risk management and monitoring of mental state.
- Work shifts over a 7-day period, including days and night duties, as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Essential criteria
- Current professional registration with appropriate professional body
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area (within agreed timescale)
- Depending on work area, recognised sign-off mentor (or equivalent) or must be achieved within agreed timescale
- Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)
- 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework at the time of applying
- Experience working in a multi-discplinary team
- Provide clinical supervision
- Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers.
- Understanding of relevant legislation
- Understanding of safeguarding and its application in practice
- Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
Desirable criteria
- Leadership or management qualification
- CAMHS Degree
- Certificate in teaching & assessing in clinical practice as appropriate to own profession
- Recognised qualification in a specific model of therapy e.g. family therapy, CBT etc
- Recognised training in Facilitation of Parenting Groups
- Leadership experience
- Mentoring students
- The trusts QIS System
