Role summary
This role involves undertaking high-level repair and maintenance of a wide range of medical equipment for Atlas BFW Management Ltd, a subsidiary of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The engineer will work at client sites across Lancashire, performing planned maintenance, calibration, and safety testing. Essential criteria
- HNC / HND in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or other appropriate discipline. (Applied Physics, Mechatronics, Physiological Measurement) Plus, relevant post graduate training or significant equivalent experience
- Full Clean UK Driver's License.
Desirable criteria
- An Incorporated Member of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IIPEM)
- Registered Clinical Technologist (RCT) on the
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages and other Software systems.
- Experience working in a reactive and high-pressure environment
- Special Knowledge/Skills
- Substantial Practical working experience working on medical equipment (2 years minimum)
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles (2 years minimum) Good knowledge underpinned by theory and practical experience.
- Knowledge of legislation, for medical devices
- Clinical knowledge and understanding (2 years) A good understanding of clinical staff arising from equipment failure.parameters and potential risks to patients and
- Demonstrate ability to covering the department and provide reasonable flexibility in terms of hours worked.
- Proven ability to adapt to change, is punctual, reliable and flexible
- Proven ability to adapt to new ideas, knowledge and skills

To undertake repair and maintenance to a wide range of medical equipment at a high technical level under the care of Medical Engineering Services and to support the work of the Service by undertaking duties at Client sites across Lancashire, and at any other locations as required.
To perform maintenance on a wide range of equipment with specific formal training and knowledge requirements.
