Role summary

This role involves contributing to the assessment and review of children with neurodevelopmental conditions, primarily autistic spectrum disorder, within the Specialist Children & Young People's Service (SCYPS) in Newham. The post holder will work with Community Paediatricians and GPs to deliver effective pathways and will lead multi-professional assessments. They will also develop streamlined patient care pathways and support the ongoing development of care pathways for ASD. Essential criteria

  • oRecognised health qualification relevant to specialty including professional registration e.g. Nursing & Midwifery Council
  • oSufficient experience at a NHS Band 6 or equivalent.
  • Experience in ASD assessment

  • oPost graduate/registration learning in neurodevelopment disorders
  • oASD assessment tool training e.g. ADOS
  • oTraining in evidence based psychological approaches e.g. CBT
  • oBehaviour Management training
  • oNon-Medical Prescriber Qualification or willingness and commitment to undertake training
  • oLine management experience
  • oAbly demonstrate autonomous working and caseload management
  • oProficient in multi-agency partnership working
  • oProfessional approach to supervision and mentorship of team

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, forward thinking practitioner with experience of Neurodevelopmental Conditions & a special interest in ASD to join our Specialist Children & Young People's Service (SCYPS) in Newham. The post holder will contribute to the development of a service for the assessment and review of children with neurodevelopmental conditions (primarily autistic spectrum disorder). They will work in partnership with Community Paediatricians, GP's and universal services to ensure delivery of an effective pathway, inclusive of wider community support. The post holder will contribute to the development & ongoing review of care pathways, policies, audits of service outcomes & develop waiting list initiatives to achieve agreed targets.
