Role summary
This role is for a highly skilled and enthusiastic Senior Community Children's Nurse to join the Community Children's Nursing (CCN) team. The team provides high-quality, holistic, family-centred care to children and young people with nursing needs across Southampton and west Hampshire. You will shape and lead the service, focusing on care planning, training, and multi-disciplinary liaison for children in various settings. The team works collaboratively to ensure care is provided as close to home as possible.
Essential criteria
- BSc Nursing or RN in Child Nursing and currently registered with NMC.
- Post registration, specialist training relevant to speciality.
- CCN Specialist Practitioner Qualification or willingness to complete within 2 years of being appointed.
- Practice assessor/supervisor or alternative mentorship qualification

- History Taking and Physical
- Assessment qualification
- Experienced in assessing and developing patient care plans.
- Experienced in developing and delivering care and clinical interventions to patients.
- Experience of MDT working.
- Experience of teaching, training and supervision/assessing junior staff and students.

- Evidence of developing policy, guidelines contributing to management of resources.

Job summary
Due to an exciting service expansion we are looking to appoint a highly skilled, enthusiastic and forward-thinking Senior Community Children's Nurse to our Community Children's Nursing (CCN) team.
Our established, passionate and dedicated CCN team work collaboratively with children, young people, families and the wider multi-disciplinary team to ensure care is provided as close to home as possible. We provide high quality and holistic, family centred care to children and young people (CYP) with a nursing need across the Southampton and west Hampshire area.
As a Senior CCN you will have the opportunity to shape and lead our responsive service as it continually adapts to the ever changing needs of the families we care for. You will have a key role in leading care planning, training and multi-disciplinary liaison for CYP with a range of needs within their home, school and wider community settings.
