Role summary
This is a part-time permanent role for a highly specialist Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join the Salford Community Stroke and Neuro Team. The successful candidate will work alongside other Band 7 OTs and a wider multidisciplinary team, focusing on patient-led care for Stroke and Neurology patients. The role involves utilising leadership skills, supervising staff and students, and contributing to service development and quality improvement projects within a supportive team environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide highly specialist occupational therapy to Stroke and Neuro patients.
- Supervise Band 6 OT staff, non-registered staff, and provide student placements as a Clinical Educator.
- Utilise leadership skills within the team and wider MDT.
- Contribute to team and service development, including Quality Improvement projects.
- Cover weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota basis.
- Cover the geographical footprint in Salford, requiring car use.
Essential criteria
- BSc / pre reg MSc Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Significant post registration NHS experience, or equivalent, including experience of working in the specialty as a Band 6.
- Evidence of wide clinical theoretical knowledge base and specialist knowledge in assessment and treatment of Stroke and Neurology patients.
- Highly developed communication and leadership skills
- Significant experience of MDT working
- Ability and evidence to work as part of a team, uni -professionally and multi-professionally
- Extensive CPD in area of speciality
- Supervision of Band 6 OT staff
- Supervision of non registered staff
- Extensive experience of clinical educator
- Evidence of leading on service improvement projects
- Awareness of Quality Improvement model / PDSA cycle
- Lead on audit project
- Ability to cover the geographical footprint e.g. car user. Public transport N/A
Desirable criteria
- Experience in both Acute and Community settings
- Supervision of static B6 staff in community setting

We are looking for a motivated, dedicated and innovative individual to join our specialist service . You will have an extensive and varied background of neurology experience, ideally in Acute and Community, and Stroke and Neuro.
