Role summary
This role is for an Information Governance Support Officer within the MIAA team, hosted by Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide support to NHS and Public Sector clients on Information Governance, including data protection, freedom of information, and GDPR compliance. Key tasks involve triaging and managing subject access and freedom of information requests, monitoring performance, and assisting with IG training and documentation. The position requires a structured, self-motivated individual capable of resolving complex problems.
Essential criteria
- Educated to A level standard, Level 6 (or above) or equivalent diplomas
- ECDL
- Evidence of continuous training in related areas
Desirable criteria
- Professional qualification such as ISEB in GDPR/Data Protection
- Professional qualification such as Cyber Security Fundamentals or Practitioner
- Demonstrable experience of successful multidisciplinary team working
- IT Literate (specifically in use of Microsoft Office products, security solutions and techniques)
- Experience of information security procedures and ability to evaluate process requirements
- Experience of investigations, advise and reporting on potentially complex/sensitive security incidents liaising with all levels of management
- Extensive experience of working in the NHS and knowledge of multiple NHS systems, procedures and information flows
- Understanding of NHS performance and quality indicator requirements
- Experience of process re-design and audit procedures
- Understanding and appreciation of the I.T developments in the NHS and broader security issues and developments
- Good understanding of internal information security initiatives and mandatory requirements
- Good understanding of GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 as they apply to Information Security/IG
- Good understanding of Data Security Protection Toolkit and evidential requirements to support this
- Good communication, negotiation and influencing skills for different target audiences
- Able to multi-task and prioritise activities on a risk based and operational criticality basis to meet deadlines, maximise efficiency and optimise service provision
- Good motivational and organisational skills
- Able to meet targets and achieve deadlines
- Good interpersonal and presentational skills. Confident, persuasive, convincing and assertive regarding compliance with policy and expected process

We are looking for and experienced and enthusiastic Information Governance Officer (Access to Information) to join our successful Information Governance Team working acrossNorthwest and beyond
As an MIAA Information Governance Officer, working within our Access to Information function, you will be earning up to £31,157 all within a flexible working environment.
In your role you will provide support to existing NHS and Public Sector MIAA clients, individually, at place and at system level, to ensure that they meet highly complex legal and regulatory obligations in relation to Information Governance including confidentiality, information security, Data Protection, Freedom of Information and GDPR.
